Attachments Upload in Dockmaster Mobile Time App Guide

Important Note: The ability to Upload Attachments between Mobile and Dockmaster client is only available in version 8.4.36.0. On the WorkOrder OpCode level only.

Initial activation of this feature will need to be done by Dockmaster Support on request.

TECHNICIAN ACCESS and OPTIONS

Once this feature is activated on a data account the company will then be able to decide which Technicians will have access to it and what level of access they will have. Mobile App security for each Technician will need to be updated to select if a Technician is allowed to Add Attachments, View Attachments and Delete Attachments. There are multiple levels for View and Delete.

For View, the options are:

  1. All - Mobile Tech can view all attachments.
  2. Owner/Public - Mobile Tech can view attachments they added, or attachments added from the DM client.
  3. Owner - Mobile Tech can only view the attachments they added.
  4. None - Mobile Tech - cannot View attachments

For Delete, the options are:

  1. All - Mobile Tech can delete any attachment.
  2. Owner/Public - Mobile Tech can delete attachments they added, or attachments added from the DM client.
  3. Owner - Mobile Tech can only delete the attachments they add.
  4. None - Mobile Tech - cannot delete attachments.

DOCKMASTER MOBILE PROFILE UPDATE

In the Mobile App, the user profile must be updated to use the new API by changing the API URL and providing a Site Id.

ATTACHMENTS USAGE and FUNCTIONALITY

Once a Technician is logged in, they must select a Work Order and Opcode. The ATTACHMENTS button will activate. Click the ATTACHMENTS button and they will be able to View/Add/Delete attachments based on their security settings.

In the attachments view, user can add an Image, Video, or Other item by clicking the appropriate button. Each process uses the standard picker control for Android or iOS. Mobile and DM both will have these attachments on the OpCode level. Either side(DM or Mobile) can see what the other attached.

After you attach your files, you can edit their text field with notes as you see fit. Clicking OK will put the files on your Time Clock or Time Entry item. The files DO NOT save unless you hit Clock In, Clock Out, or Save. In Time Clock mode, attachments can be changed before Clock In, or before Clock Out. In Time Entry mode, attachments can be changed while entering a time entry.

If Technician has access to view the attachment, they can swipe right and select View.

If a Technician has access to delete the attachment, they can swipe left and select Delete.

To edit attachments on an existing time entry, open the Time Card view, swipe right on the entry and select Edit to edit the entry. You can then add/edit/delete entries as stated above.

Technicians can also view attachments by swiping left and selecting view. Then scroll to the bottom of the Time Entry detail and click the ATTACHMENTS button.

On the Dockmaster client side, you can see these from the Attachments Paper Clip icon inside the OpCode.
