Shutdown and Reboot Procedures
Shutdown and Reboot - D3/Windows System
- Have all clerks log out of the DockMaster application.
- From the Server (one remaining DockMaster connection in Accuterm), go to TCL.
- Type in DM and press
Enter
. Your cursor will now be sitting at a colon: - When you see the prompt (:) type SHUTDOWN and the Following Appears:
- "Do you wish to continue (Y/N/0)?" Select ‘Y’ to proceed.
- Each process will scroll by as they are being terminated.
- The Database is Shutdown After the Message: Boot When Disk is quiescent displays.
When you see the message Boot When Disk is Quiescent, DockMaster is shutdown. Verify the D3ODBC Services is stopped from the Services window.
- Once you have Shutdown the D3Virtual Machine Environment Service will no longer be Started.
- Highlight the D3ODBC Service, Right Click and select Stop to also Shutdown this service. (Note: some user system have it setup for the ODBC to stop and Start along with the VME. This is done by adding a setting within the DockMaster application.)
TO REBOOT WINDOWS AFTER SHUTTING DOWN THE D3 DATABASE
- Close all Other Windows Applications on the server and let all Network Users know first.
- Click on Start, Shutdown, and choose to either SHUTDOWN or RESTART windows.
TO START DockMaster WITHOUT REBOOTING WINDOWS
Access the SERVICES ICON, which may be a shortcut on your desktop, or can be accessed from START/SETTINGS/CONTROL PANEL/ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS.
- First highlight the D3Virtual Machine Environment, right click, and select Start.
- When the status column reflects started you can reconnect to DockMaster through Accuterm.
- DockMaster GUI customers – Second Start the D3ODBC service too.
NOTE: Some customers have their D3ODBC service set to start and stop, whenever they shutdown DockMaster from TCL and Start the D3VME from Services. Refresh the services window by closing it and re-opening it after the D3VME is Shutdown/Started to verify if you are setup this way. You can also use the standard MS windows F5 key to refresh your window.
