Applying a Customer Payment to a Storage Proposal

Applying a Customer Payment to a Storage Proposal

Notes & Hints:

  • You can enter a Storage/Dockage Proposal Id to create an invoice and apply the payment to it. Refer to the Storage & Billing section to review how Proposals are created.

  • Once a Proposal is converted to an invoice, deleting the Cash Receipt batch does not delete the invoice. You must delete it through the Storage & Billing module using the program Maintain Storage Bills.

  • Click in the Action column in the Action Grid to apply monies to a specific A/R invoice, storage proposal, or A/P Debit Memo. Select Apply Invoices.

  • Enter a Proposal ID at the Document field to create an invoice. If you don’t know the Proposal number, select Storage Proposals sF8 from the Command Panel. An invoice must be created for the Proposal before a payment can be applied. Entry of a valid Proposal ID will display the following message:

  • "A Storage Proposal does exist with this ID. Do you want to create an invoice?"

  • Click No to abandon creating an invoice based on the Proposal ID entered. The cursor returns to the invoice number field for re-entry of a valid invoice number.

  • Click Yes to create an invoice based on the Proposal ID entered. The Storage & Billing invoice created will now display in the invoice field.
