Applying a Customer Payment to Specific Invoices

Notes & Hints:

  • Cash can only be applied to an invoice one time during a single batch entry. If you attempt to apply cash twice, this message is displayed: This invoice already has a receipt pending against it.

  • If you attempt to post cash to an invoice that has cash applied from an unposted batch, this message is displayed: Invoice has cash applied - skipped until posting complete. You must post or delete the entry from the unposted batch before the system will allow cash to be applied to this invoice.

  • Click in the Action column in the grid.

  • To apply monies to a specific A/R invoice, storage proposal, or A/P Debit Memo,

  • Press F6 while in the Document Field to display all open (outstanding) invoices for the current customer. Each line will appear highlighted when selected. F8 selects (highlights) ALL items. Note: If there are multiple pages in the list, all items on each page will be selected. Select sF7 to Auto Select the invoice(s).

  • Once an Invoice is displayed in the grid, click on the invoice and press F8 Invoice Inquiry to view payment activity and drill down to the source document.
