Using SendGrid for Emailing with DockMaster

This guide is to help your admin or IT person to enable SendGrid use so you can email via Dockmaster instead of needing SMTP Server info setup.

This will work for any emailing and is a solution for the Microsoft O365 restrictions they put in place to stop 3rd parties from using SMTP externally.

In DockMaster navigate to: System Administration / Configuration / DockMaster Parameters / System Information (Third tab)

In the middle is Email Settings; from here you can select SMTP or SendGrid.

SMTP is unchanged from previous versions of DockMaster.

SendGrid is to allow DockMaster to access your SendGrid Account.  DockMaster Support can assist as best we can to help with SendGrid but there are numerous steps/information/access that only your IT will have.

You/Your IT will need to create a SendGrid account: SendGrid

-Note: A Free account will work but has limited number of emails per day.  Paid SendGrid plans offer more flexibility in the quantity of emails per day.

You will need to authenticate your domain with Send Grind.  You may need your IT to complete this.  You can follow this guide from SendGrid:

SendGrid Guide

Once you have verified your domain with SendGrid you will create an API key in your SendGrid account.  In SendGrid: Settings / API Keys.

Name your API Key (can be anything you want).Image
