Change Part Number

Change Part Number

Purpose This program is used to change a Part Number that was entered incorrectly in the Inventory File (IM). The OLD part number will be deleted after the NEW part number is created. The program also allows you to convert the History Files to reference the NEW part number instead of the OLD if the incorrect (OLD) part number has history (sales, purchasing, etc.). Note: This program will not change a Fuel part number.

From the menu select Inventory Management, Maintenance Functions, Change Part Number.

  • Old Part Number - Enter the OLD Part Number you are changing or type a key word preceded by a backslash "" to access a cross-reference list.

  • New Part Number - Enter the NEW Part Number you are creating.

  • Update History, etc. - This prompt is automatically enabled; disable this option if you only want to change the part number. If the incorrect (OLD) part number has history (sales, purchasing, etc.), you may want to convert the History Files to reference the NEW part number instead of the OLD.

  • Click the Save button to process the change.
