Change Weighted Average Cost​

Purpose This program allows you to correct the Weighted Average Cost of a part. A part can get an incorrect Weighted Average Cost by:

1. Loading or creating a new part with the wrong cost.

2. Loading or creating a new part with an incorrect Buy Quantity.

3. Receiving a part with the wrong cost.

Important: This process does not create a Journal Transaction to account for any adjustments between the inventory value at the Old WAV Cost and the New WAV Cost. You can generate a report in the Report Generator to display all transactions for the part in question.

From the menu select Inventory Management, Maintenance Functions, Change Weighted Average Cost.

  • Part Number - Enter the Part Number you want to update or type a key word preceded by a backslash "" to access a cross-reference list.

  • A Part Description and current Weighted Average Cost are displayed.

  • New Weighted Average Cost - Enter a New Weighted Average Cost for this part.

  • Press the Save button to process the change.
