Post Deferred Revenue

From the menu select Marina Management > Billing Functions > Post Deferred Revenue

Purpose For users who bill storage/dockage charges on an annual, seasonal, quarterly, or semi-annual basis. Using the deferred schedules created during the billing process, a detail or summary accounting entry is generated transferring unearned revenue to earned revenue for the schedule date chosen.

Important: This process should be run once a month if you defer storage fees.

Invoice Numbers – Enter one or multiple Invoice Numbers or leave the prompt blank to include ALL invoices. Press F6 to list Customers. While in the Storage Invoices Listing window, you can select multiple invoices by pressing and holding the CTL key while right clicking on each invoice or press F8 to select ALL invoices. Press F7 to delete a row. List Name – Enter a List Name or bypass this prompt. Schedule Date - Enter the Schedule Date to process. Note: The date will always change to the month ending date. The system will select all open schedule items for the Schedule Date month and create a journal transaction DEBITING the Deferred Revenue account and CREDITING the Revenue account. Accounting Date - Enter the Accounting Date for the Journal Transaction to be created. This date should be in the same month as the Schedule Date. Summary or Detail - Press Enter to create a Summary Journal Transaction, or click on the down arrow and click on Detail to create multiple Journal Transactions. Note: A SUMMARY posting will create one journal transaction for all schedule items processed, while the DETAIL option will create a Journal Transaction for each schedule item processed. The Summary option is recommended. Click the Post button to process the invoices selected.
