Storage Proposals
From the DockMaster menu, select Marina Management > Storage Proposals
Storage Proposals, also known as storage contracts, can be generated for customers who are located within your facility as well as those that aren’t. They can be merged to PDF's which can be emailed or printed. In some instances, they can be generated to pre-printed forms. Once returned, the Storage Proposals can be automatically converted to an Invoice or edited as desired first.
DockMaster allows you to print proposals (contracts) for storage and/or dockage. The proposal process uses the Boat File to create proposals for boats that have a particular billing cycle or billing code.
Your proposal process consists of these activities:
- Generate the proposals through the Generate Storage Proposals menu item.
- Use List Storage Proposals to review and verify the accuracy of the Storage Proposals.
- In the event that you entered an incorrect billing cycle, due date, or made other errors, you can delete ALL proposals for a specific date by using the Delete Storage Proposals program.
- Use Storage Proposal Maintenance to modify or delete a specific proposal.
- Use Print Storage Proposals to print the proposals on letterhead, formatted contracts, etc.
Converting Proposals to Invoices
Proposal Status - A Storage Proposal is considered CONFIRMED if an Invoice has been generated from a proposal, and UNCONFIRMED if an Invoice has not been generated.
Storage Proposals can be converted into Invoices by using one of the following methods. Note: The invoice number created from a proposal will be the same as the proposal ID
- A/R Cash Receipts Entry - At the Invoice Number prompt, enter the Storage Proposal number and the system will ask if you want to create an Invoice. The program will create the Invoice and automatically apply the monies against the Invoice.
- Storage Invoice Maintenance - At the Invoice ID prompt, enter the Storage Proposal number and the system will ask if you want to create an Invoice. You can also press F7 at this prompt to list all unconfirmed Storage Proposals.
