Moving a Wait List Prospect into a Slip
Moving a Wait List Prospect into a Slip
Customers or prospects that are part of your Wait List program should be moved into a slip by pulling up the Wait List Entry and clicking the Boat Placement hyperlink. If you don’t locate the boat in this manner, the Wait List entry doesn’t get properly marked as fulfilled. You will have to mark the entry manually in this case.
Notes & Hints:
- The Boat Placement program will allow you to display a list of Wait List entries any time a slip is relocated or departed.
- If a prospect doesn’t have a Customer ID and/or Boat ID attached to the Wait List entry, the system will automatically create a Customer and/or Boat File for the prospect when the Boat Placement link is selected.
- Pull up a Wait List Entry and click the Boat Placement hyperlink; you can place the boat in a slip here.
The cursor will be resting at the New Location prompt. Follow the instructions below to assign the slip.
- New Location - Enter a New Location (Slip/Rack Number) for this boat or press F6 to list the Slip File. Only slips without a boat ID in the Boat column are open slips. If a valid open slip is entered, the cursor will move to the Action Date prompt; the Placement Action will read Arrival.
You may receive one of the following error messages when placing a new boat in a slip:
- Slip [slip number] is occupied by boat [boat id]. If the slip number entered is already occupied, you must depart the boat currently in this slip to continue.
- Boat Length greater than Slip Length. Do you want to continue? Click Yes to override the length issue and place the boat in the slip anyway.
- Action Date – The Action Date will default to the current date; click on this prompt to change the date. This date is used in the Customer Boat File as the Assignment Date and Arrival Date.
