Work Processing Set-Up Activities
Maintain the Service Management Parameters (mandatory). This program can be found on the Configuration Menu through System Administration.
Maintain the Clerk File (mandatory). This file can be found on the Security Menu through System Administration. The menu option is Clerk Maintenance and may be password protected.
Any person who will be writing a work order or estimate should be given a clerk number. The Clerk File allows you to enter a 8 digit alphanumeric code to identify each clerk. It is suggested that you make these codes numeric to eliminate the hunt-and-peck time on the keyboard.
Maintain the Technician File (mandatory). This file can be found on the File Maintenance Menu.
Any person for whom you will add time on a work order for should be given a technician number. The Technician File allows you to enter a 5 digit numeric code to identify each mechanic/laborer.
Maintain the Operation Category Code File (optional). This file can be found on the Service Menu.
Creating operation categories allows you to organize your operations into groups for reporting purposes.
Maintain the Operation Code File (optional). This file can be found on the Service Menu.
Operation codes allow you to track all charges applied to a specific job (parts, labor, freight, etc.) and enable you to report on the profitability of these operations for a given date range.
Maintain the Work Order Category Code File (optional). This file can be found on the Service Menu
Creating W/O categories allows you to organize your Work Orders into groups for reporting purposes.
Enter your Current Warranty Vendors into the Customer File through Customer File Maintenance (mandatory). This file can be found on the File Maintenance Menu.
If your company is going to maintain inventory in separate physical locations, maintain the Location File (optional). This file can be found on the System Administration Menu. The menu option is Location Maintenance.
Maintain the Inventory File (optional). Use the Inventory Maintenance program to enter information about your inventory items. This can be found on the Inventory Control Menu.
