Increasing Labor Rates

Increasing Labor Rates (Multiple Areas)

Labor Rates can be increased in quite a few areas throughout DM.

System Administration>Configuration>Service Management(Service Management Parameters) - Operational Options Tab

File Maintenance>Technicians(Technician Maintenance)

Service Management>Operation Codes>Operations Codes(OpCode Maintenance)

Service Management>Maintenance Functions>Work Orders>WO Maint - Maintenance Tab - Retail box

Service Management>Maintenance Functions>Work Orders>WO Maint>WO Op Maint - OpCode Overrides Tab

System Administration>Configuration>Service Management(Service Management Parameters) - Operational Options Tab

If a 'Shop Labor Rate' is defined in System Administration>Configuration>Service Management, that rate will populate the Labor field on all new work orders when created. When an operation code is added to the work order, the 'Shop Labor Rate' will be used in the opcode Labor Rate field if the operation code is not predefined with a Labor Rate. If there is a Labor rate on the work order and/or the opcode, the technician rate will not be used. For the technician rate to be used, both the work order labor rate and opcode labor rate must be blank (not 0.00).

To update the shop labor rate for time & materials opcodes, go to:

  • System Administration>Configuration>Service Management.

This will change the work order labor rate for all new work orders created. No changes will be made to existing work orders/estimates/templates. Opcodes that have a pre-defined rate will override the work order rate so they will also need to be changed if needed.
