Time Clock
Work Order Time Clock
Purpose: To allow a technician to clock in and out of a Work Order. This time entry program uses the same entry screen as the Work Order Time Card program, however, the start and stop time are not maintainable. When clocking in, the technician will enter the Work Order and Opcode and by clicking the SAVE WORK ORDER button, the technician will be clocked into the work order. If the Technician is already clocked in, when the Tech Id is entered the Work Order and Opcode display. By clicking the SAVE WORK ORDER button, the tech is clocked out of that job.
The Time Clock entry method works just like punching in and out of a time clock. If your technician’s punch in and out on jobs, then Time Clock entry would work for you. DockMaster recommends setting up a dedicated workstation, just for clocking in and out of jobs. When the technician starts a job, he/she would go to the computer and pull up the work order and clock in, which would enter a start time. When the job is complete, the technician would go back to the computer and clock out of the job. The clocking in and out can be made easier through the use of Job Cards. Job Cards will have a barcode on them, which can be scanned in the Time Clock entry window. If you are interested in finding out more about Job Cards, ask your System Administrator.
Each time you enter this program, you will see ALL labor entries that have been added to the technician for the current day. You cannot delete a labor entry or change the hours and department through this program. You will have to use the Work Order Time Card program to change or delete an entry made through the Time Clock program.
Once you bill out an operation to a customer, the billed labor will appear highlighted and you will be unable to affect these entries. To remove a labor entry that was erroneously billed to a customer, you must enter the labor hours again with a negative hours figure.
From the menu select Service, Maintenance Functions, Work Order Time Clock.
