Tool Check Out

Purpose: Allows the user to check tools in and out. Tracks the location of tools by Technician or Work Order.

From the menu, select Service, Tool Check Out.

Check out a tool

  1. Transaction Number - Enter a unique tracking number for a particular tool. If you want the system to generate a tracking number, press the New button from the Command Panel or enter "N" in the field. Maximum of 8 numeric characters.
  2. Tool Id - Enter in a valid Tool Id. To get a listing of Tool Id’s, press the F6 key or List F6 from the Command Panel. If the Tool has already been checked out, a message will pop up on your screen. Select another Tool Id to continue.
  3. Tool Type - The Tool Type will default based on the Tool Id that is entered.
  4. Technician - Enter in the Technician who is checking out the tool. To get a listing of Technicians, press the F6 key or List F6 from the Command Panel.
  5. Work Order - Enter in the Work Order the tool is going to being used on.
  6. Check Out Date - Enter in the date the tool is being checked out. The current date will default.
  7. Comments - Enter in any comments you might want to see in a report regarding the tool being checked out.

Check in a tool

  1. Transaction Number - Enter in the number of the tool you want to check back in. To get a listing of checked out tools, press the F6 key.
  2. Check In Date - When a Tool is finished being used for a particular job, enter in the date you are checking in the tool. The current date will default.
  3. Save - Press the Save button from the Command Panel to save your work.
