Backing Up Your Data

Backing Up Your Data

The File-Save performs a backup of only your data to a file on the hard drive.

Important: We recommend a file-save be performed daily. You should also be including that file as part of the daily and separate windows server backup.

Failure to run regular backupscan be very disruptive to your business in the event of a hardware failure, power failure, lightning strike, or other problem that causes you to lose data. It's CRUCIAL to back up on a regular schedule that ensures minimal information loss should a problem occur.

Purging Data And Upgrading Your System

Always make a backup of your data prior to running any DockMaster purge routines, deleting information through ACCESS, upgrading your system to a new version of DockMaster, or upgrading/changing your computer to a new operating system.

Back Up Message when logging into DockMaster

If a Back Up has not been completed in 2 days, a message will appear when logging into DockMaster indicating the date of the last Back Up. If you should receive this message, you should contact your Systems Administrator.
