Custom Prompts

Custom Prompts

Purpose: This program allows you to create your own prompts to track information that you feel is pertinent for the files listed below:

  • Customer File - Miscellaneous Tab
  • Customer Boat File - Desc/Misc Info/Rental Tab
  • Vendor File - Miscellaneous Tab

General Rules: You cannot make a blank line in the grid. If you want to create space between two prompts, use dashes ‘-‘ or asterisks ‘*’.

From the menu System Administration, Utilities, Custom Prompts.

  • Custom Prompt Form - Press Enter to select the Customer Maintenance or click on the down arrow to select a different file. The file options include: Customer, Boat, Vendor or Work Order Maintenance.
  • Click in the Form Text column to enter the text that should appear in the Misc Info Tag column on the Miscellaneous Information grid. The user cannot alter this text during the entry of data into the file; data can only be entered in the Miscellaneous Information column to the right of each prompt added into the grid.
  • Press F7 to delete a row. If data exists in the customer, boat, vendor or work order file, the data stored for that custom prompt would be deleted. The user will receive a message that this will cause an update to every record in the (cm) file, do you want to continue? If the user answers "Yes", then a confirmation message with the number of records updated will come up.
  • Click in the Format Type column to select a data format for the prompt entered. Click the down arrow to display the possible formats. The formats include:
    • Date format
    • Free form text
    • Numeric in the format XXX.XX
    • Numeric, no precision necessary
    • Phone format
    • Y/N
  • Click Save to save the custom prompts.
