Check Reprinting

Check Reprinting

From the DockMaster menu, select Accounts Payable > Check Processing > Check Reprinting

Purpose: To reprint checks using the Check Reprinting process if any of the three reasons occur:

  1. Your printer malfunctions during a check run,
  2. You forgot to put checks in the printer or sent the print job to the wrong printer, or
  3. You assigned the wrong check numbers to a batch of checks with preprinted check numbers.

Note: Print a check register prior to reprinting or reassigning checks.

  • Bank Code - Enter a valid Bank Code or press F6 to list all bank codes. This is the bank code corresponding to the Financial Institution you are reprinting/reassigning a check for.

  • Reassigning Check Numbers Only - Click on this option if you want to simply Reassign Check Numbers Only. This prompt determines whether you are actually reprinting checks or only reassigning invalid check numbers.

Note: If you are only reassigning check numbers, no checks will be printed when you click the Print button to begin processing.

  • Old Starting Check Number - Enter the Old Starting Check Number to reprint or reassign.

  • Old Ending Check Number - Enter the Old Ending Check Number to reprint or reassign.

  • New Starting Check Number - Enter the New Starting Check Number to reprint or reassign.

Note: If you are reprinting checks without changing the check numbers, enter the Old Starting Check Number as the New Starting Check Number.

  • Click the Print button to reprint or reassign checks numbers.

Important: Every check in the range you choose to reprint or reassign must have been issued or the system will give you an error when you click the Print button.

For example, you printed checks 100 through 110; voided check 111 because it got ripped (you never entered it in the system). Then printed checks 112 through 120; if you try to reprint checks 100 through 120, the system will give you an error telling you that check 111 has not been issued.

In this case, you would have to reprint checks 100 through 110; then reprint checks 112 through 120 in a separate check run.
