Duplicate Chart of Accounts

Duplicate Chart of Accounts

This procedure allows you to duplicate a portion or all your Chart of Accounts. You can duplicate the accounts for a particular cost center or company. This process will also create new companies or cost centers if they don't already exist.

Note: If you let the system create a new company using this process, please be sure that the new company to be created has the same accounting period set up (year-end) as the company being duplicated.

From the menu select, General Ledger, Maintenance Functions, Duplicate Chart of Accounts.

  1. Enter an Existing Company that will be used to duplicate accounts in your General Ledger.
    • Press F6 to list the Company Table.
  2. Enter the Company you are duplicating accounts in. If you enter a company that doesn’t exist, a new company will be created automatically by the system.
    • Press F6 to list the Company Table.
  3. The cursor will stop at the Short Description and Long Description prompts to allow you to name the new company.
