Country Codes control validation of State, Phone Number formatting and Address formatting.
Country Code Maintenance
- Country Code – Enter a standard two-digit code for a country.
- Country Name – Enter the name of the Country. Maximum 25 characters.
- Validate State – The validate state box is used to indicate if the states for this country should be validated against the state file. In files such as Customer Maintenance and Vendor Maintenance, if the country selected has the validate state box checked, the state will be validated against the state file. If it is left un-checked, the user will be allowed to enter free-form text in the state field.
- U.S. Phone Number Formatting – Check this box if you want to apply United States formatting for all phone numbers for the country selected. For example: 999-999-9999.
- International Dialing Prefix – If this country requires an international prefix for dialing phone numbers, enter the dialing prefix in the field provided.
--Address Format Information--
- User Label – Description of the field being formatted.
- Line – Line stores where the field selected should be displayed on. Valid entries are 0 – 6. A zero in this field indicates that this field is not used when displayed. Notes: When displaying the address, blank address lines are not used. So if the city was to appear on line 4, but a field on lines 1, 2, or 3 were completely blank (i.e. address 3), the city may appear on line 3 instead.
- Position – This stores the position of the field on a particular line. For example, in the US, the City, State and Zip are displayed on the same line. Hence, all three fields would have the same line number, but "City" would be position 1, "State" would be position 2 and "Postal code" would be position 3. Only numeric entries are valid.
- Punctuation – The punctuation is related to the position field. If there needs to be any punctuation following a field, for example "City," a comma is entered in this field.
- Address Label Line – The address label line works the same as the "Line" above. The only difference is they are used on Address labels where we may not have a full six lines to use. This allows the user to get the address onto fewer than six lines if necessary.
- Address Label Position - The address label position works the same as the "Position" above. The only difference is they are used on Address labels where we may not have a full six lines to use. This allows the user to get the address onto fewer than six lines if necessary.
- Address Label Punctuation - The address label punctuation works the same as the "Punctuation" above. The only difference is they are used on Address labels where we may not have a full six lines to use. This allows the user to get the address onto fewer than six lines if necessary.
