Postal Codes [FM]
Postal Codes
From the DockMaster menu, select File Maintenance > Tax Info > Postal Codes
Postal Codes will dictate the proper schema to use for most tax calculations. For example, in the Accounts Receivable module, the Postal Code from the Location File selected on a miscellaneous charge will be used to calculate the taxes. However, if a Tax Schema is entered on a Postal Code attached to the Customer’s file, the Tax schema on the customer’s file will be used to calculate the taxes before the system looks to the Location File.
Note: If there is a Postal Code missing, a new Postal Code can be added through Postal Code Maintenance. In addition to adding new postal codes, you can also assign a Tax Schema to an existing postal code within the Postal Code Maintenance screen.
