Color Codes

Color Code Maintenance

Purpose To create color codes for Boat inventory. The use of color codes is recommended to keep all references to colors consistent throughout the Boat Sales module.

 The Preferences tab in Prospect Maintenance allows you to search your Boat inventory to find a preferred color combination for a potential buyer. If you do not use color codes, then the chance of finding a boat based on specific color may yield incomplete results or may take more time since colors may have been entered differently (e.g. The person who entered the boat entered the color as aqua, but when you look it up you enter blue since that I what color you would call it).

 Color codes are used in the following places in the Boat Sales module:

 Boat Inventory Maintenance, Prospect Maintenance, Sales Contract Maintenance

From the menu select Sales Management, Codes Maintenance, Color Codes.

  • Code – Enter the color code. Color Codes can be up to 10 characters long.
  • Description – Enter the Description for the color code. The Description can be up to 25 characters long.

This grid shows a list of all color codes.

  • Code – Color Code name.
  • Description – Color Code Description.
