Model Types

Model Type Maintenance​

Purpose To create model types for inventoried Boat, Motor, Trailer, and Other models. The B/M/T Sales Module has an Inventory Query on the Inquiries menu which allows a sales person to easily search items in stock based on model type. For example, several boat manufacturers may carry Center Console boats; by making a model type called CC, you could search the boat inventory to see all center console boats available for sale. Model Types also aid in creating sales and inventory reports.

 Model Types are used in Boat Model Maintenance, Prospect Maintenance, and Inventory Query

From the menu select Sales Management, Codes Maintenance, Model Types

Type - In the pull down list, select the desired type of item for which a model type is being created. Choices are Boat, Motor, Trailer, and Other. When you choose a type, the appropriate Model Type section appears below Type and Model Type fields in the Model Type Maintenance form.

Model Type – Enter a new model type. The model type can be up to 5 characters long. To edit an existing model type you can press F6 or click the List F6 link in the Command Panel to see a list of all model types.

-- Boat Model Type –-​
  • Description – Enter the Description for the Boat model type. The Description can be up to 25 characters long.
  • Available Rentals – Enter the Available Rentals. This is a free form text field
  • Overbook Limit – Enter the Overbook Limit. This is a free form text field
  • Rental Type – Check this box if this model type is a rental type.
-- Motor Model Type –-​
  • Description – Enter the Description for the Motor model type. The Description can be up to 25 characters long.
  • Description 2 – Enter a second Description for the Motor model type. The Description can be up to 25 characters long.
  • Description 3 – Enter a third Description for the Motor model type. The Description can be up to 25 characters long.

  • Description – Enter the Description for the Trailer model type. The Description can be up to 25 characters long.
  • Description 2 – Enter a second Description for the Trailer model type. The Description can be up to 25 characters long.
  • Description 3 – Enter a third Description for the Trailer model type. The Description can be up to 25 characters long.

  • Description – Enter the Description for the Other model type. The Description can be up to 25 characters long.
  • Description 2 – Enter a second Description for the Other model type. The Description can be up to 25 characters long.
  • Description 3 – Enter a third Description for the Other model type. The Description can be up to 25 characters long.
