Price Formulas

Price Formula Maintenance

Purpose To create Price Formulas that are used to calculate Line Pricing.

 Price Formulas are used in Model Maintenance and Inventory Maintenance.

From the menu select Sales Management, Codes Maintenance, Price Formulas.

  • Formula ID – Enter the Price Formula ID. You can press F6 or click the List F6 link in the Command Panel to see a list of all Price Formulas.
  • Formula Description – Enter a description for the price formula. The description can be up to 40 characters long.
  • Round To – In the pull down list, choose how rounding should be handled in dollars. Choices are 1, 10, 100, and 1000.
  • Base Cost Formula – This field defaults to Base Serial. In the pull down list, choose either Base Serial or Base Model.
  • Effective Discount Formula – Enter a Discount Formula based on Discount Formula Options below. For example, in the formula D(1) + D(2)5%, D(1) = Discount One, D(2) = Discount Two, and 5% = Percentage of the discount which reduces List.

D(#) = Discount Number

D(#)P% = Discount Number with Percentage of discount which reduces List.

  • Effective Cost Formula – Enter a Cost Formula based on Cost Formula Options below.

B = Base Cost  D = Discounts

O = Option Cost R = Rebates

F = Freight Cost RC = Rebate Cost

G = Rigging Cost M = Miscellaneous

P = Prep Cost  M(#) = Misc Number

  • Effective List Formula – Enter a List Formula based on List Formula Options below.

D = Discounts

  • Line 1 Price Formula – Enter a Line 1 Price Formula based on Price Formula Options below.
  • Line 2 Price Formula – Enter a Line 2 Price Formula based on Price Formula Options below.
  • Line 3 Price Formula – Enter a Line 3 Price Formula based on Price Formula Options below.
  • Line 4 Price Formula – Enter a Line 4 Price Formula based on Price Formula Options below.
  • Line 5 Price Formula – Enter a Line 5 Price Formula based on Price Formula Options below.

L = List   (example L-20, where 20 is 20%)

ML = Model List  (example ML-15, where 15 is 15%)

C = Cost  (example C+50, where 50 is 50%)

M = Margin  (example M+30, where 30 is 30%)

  • Freight Price Formula – Enter a Freight Price Formula using any combination of the Cost, List, and Price formula options.
  • Rigging Price Formula – Enter a Rigging Price Formula using any combination of the Cost, List, and Price formula options.
  • Prep Price Formula – Enter a Prep Price Formula using any combination of the Cost, List, and Price formula options.
  • Comments – Enter a price formula comment. This is a free form text field.
